Following a system update on Monday 4th September an issue has been reported meaning some Vevox users cannot add the Vevox add-in for Microsoft Teams to their meetings and therefore use it directly via Teams. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
Issue - I'm stuck trying to accept permissions
Our Teams add-in requires you to accept some permissions from Microsoft. Depending on your organisation, some users will find that your Teams account administrator will need to approve these permissions first.
The following articles from Microsoft explain a couple of different approaches to do this:
- https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/app-permissions-admin-center
The 2 permissions that are required to be approved are:
Chat.ReadBasic | Read names and members of user chat threads. | Allows an app to read the members and descriptions of 1:1 and group chats threads, on behalf of the signed-in user. |
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/permissions-reference#chat-permissions
User.Read | Sign-in and read user profile | Allows users to sign-in to the app, and allows the app to read the profile of signed-in users. It also allows the app to read basic company information of signed-in users. |

Issue - I see a permanently spinning loading wheel
When you attempt to add Vevox to a teams meeting you see a loading screen, but the wheel keeps spinning and you cannot progress.
A solution to this will require An IT Administrator to check a setting in your account.
The following article from Microsoft explains how to do this - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/manage-apps/disable-user-sign-in-portal.
The setting called Enabled for users to sign-in? needs to be set to Yes.
In the mean time, users experiencing issues with the Vevox add-in for Microsoft Teams are advised to run Vevox independently through the Vevox Present View or PowerPoint add-in and invite participants to interact through their mobile device or browser by scanning the 'join session' QR code in 'Present View' or navigating to vevox.app.
