Where Q&A is participants' way of submitting ideas, responses, questions & comments, a host message works in the opposite direction. A host message is when you, the host send messages or announcements to your participants. These messages are also viewed in the Q&A board and will appear on participant mobile devices as well as in present view.
It works in the same way as it would for a participant;
- type in a message,
- press send and
- the message will appear in the list.
Sending a host message is a great way to kick start your session. We like to always put in a little welcome message for our participants and encourage them to participate.
How to distinguish between a host message and a Q&A message?
There are 2 differences between a Q&A(participant) and host message:
- The host messages will appear in whichever message list you are currently viewing and say 'Host' next to the message. Remember, participant messages will either go to the 'Published' or 'Needs Review' list depending on your moderation settings.
- The color differs. We think host messages are important. That's why the host message will always appear on a black background to your participants, so it stands out from their messages.
