Introduction
Vevox offers 2 integrations for Microsoft Teams. Both these integrations need to be set up individually.
1. Integration for MS Teams Meetings & Video calls - (read this article)
2. Integration for MS Teams Channel & Chat (see article below)
Vevox can be incorporated into your Microsoft Teams Channel/Chat enabling you with the best features of Vevox within your daily channel and chat communication platform.
Use Vevox for secure Q&A and live polling at any point during your Teams chats. Your team can share ideas or anonymous feedback, take part in interactive quizzes and instant online polls all from within your Teams channel.
This integration shows the Vevox participant view within your Teams channel or chat. Participants can now take part in the polls and Q&A without using any mobile devices but vote straight from within MS Teams.

Steps to use Vevox when hosting a Microsoft Teams Channel or Chat
1. Set up your Vevox session in the Vevox dashboard
Read this article on how to set up your Vevox session. Take note of your 9 digit session ID. Make sure your session is set to the 'Started' status mode before you start your Teams meeting.
2. Add Vevox to Microsoft Teams Channel or Chat
To add Vevox into your Microsoft Teams, go to your Teams platform and login. Click on either the Teams icon or the Chat icon depending on where you want to add your Vevox to.
In the bottom left, click on the ‘Apps’ section and search for ‘Vevox’ using the ‘search all apps’ bar. Then click ‘Add to a team’.
Or alternatively, paste this link into your browser to find the Vevox application:

Choose which team or channel you would like to set up the Vevox tab with by using the ‘teams or channel name’ search bar. Once you’ve selected an option, click the ‘setup a tab’ button.
A pop-up will appear in Teams giving you the option to add in your 9 digit Session ID. Go to your Vevox dashboard, click on the meeting you want to invite your team to, and copy the meeting ID. Paste the Session ID into the empty ‘Meeting ID’ in the Teams popup and click ‘Save’.
The Vevox tab at the top of your channel will now show an embedded Vevox Web App, enabling your team to participate in polls, anonymous Q&A, quizzes and more without needing to leave your Teams channel or chat!
Tips for using Vevox on Teams
- Before you run your Teams video meeting, ensure you have created a Vevox session in your dashboard that is live with all your content and customizations.
- Remember you as a session host will still need to use Present view in your Vevox dashboard to open and close your polls.
- Your participants joining must be reminded to select the 'Vevox tab' in your Microsoft Teams' channel in the top banner, or they can select the Vevox icon in the Chat to enable them to see the Vevox polls & anonymous Q&A. (They will automatically join the session without the need to enter the 9 digit Session ID.)
- Participants will be able to have your Teams video showing in a window, whilst looking at the Vevox tab to take part in polls and Q&A, making it easy for them to be able to view both displays at once throughout the session. Participants might need to resize their video screen to ensure they can see both the video screen as well as the Vevox tab at the same time.
How to manage your anonymous Q&A from the Vevox Teams integration
The benefit of using the Vevox Q&A is that your participants can truly stay anonymous when contributing comments, suggestions and ideas. This is unlike the Teams native chat functionality that reveals a name next to each comment. It encourages true honest feedback and creates a safe space to mention the real issues. And all the Q&A feedback as well as polling results will be safely captured in the Vevox data report (in Excel format as well as results images) for further analysis.
To manage your Q&A session in Teams do the following:
Set up your Vevox session in the Vevox dashboard. The default session set up is that all participants are anonymous. You can check it by going to the session card, selecting the more options (three dots) and then choose ‘Settings’.
Under the Identification tab the 'Identification' section must be set to 'Anonymous'.
Ensure that the Q&A settings are selected under the 'Features' tab if you would like to use the Q&A message board. We suggest that you keep the moderation off for a simple Q&A experience. If you would like to review & filter all responses before they are shared on the Vevox tab for all to see, turn the moderation to ‘On’.
From the Q&A section in the navigation menu in your dashboard, type in your message or announcement that you would like to send to the Q&A board. Press the send button. This message will appear at the top of the Q&A board in the Vevox tab in MS Teams.
When participants first join the meeting in MS Teams they will see the welcome/information screen in the Vevox tab. Participants can navigate to the Q&A board by clicking on the double speech bubbles within the Vevox tab. The red dot indicates that there are unread messages in the Q&A board.
This is an example of what the participants will see once they are part of the MS Teams channel and has selected the Vevox tab in the top banner.
The host message will appear on a bright background in the Vevox tab under the Q&A board.
Participants can enter their comments and feedback at the bottom in the ‘Ask a question’ section. Then press the arrow to send their message.
From the Vevox dashboard, messages can be sent to archive or marked as favorites by the host.
For more functionality, reviewing processes and showing published Q&A messages read more about managing Q&A messages.
Setting up a new Vevox session for the same MS Channel or Team
In some instances, the session host might have repeat or weekly sessions where they would like to use the Vevox integration with MS Teams, asking different questions at each session but to the same MS Team or Channel.
As your Vevox integration is already set up to a specific MS Channel or Team, you only need to link the Channel or Team to a new Vevox session.
To link your current MS Team or Channel to a new Vevox session follow these steps:
Set up a new Vevox session in your Vevox dashboard and note the new 9 digit Session ID number.
Populate your session with your new polls and questions.
Put your session status in the ‘Started’ mode.
Link the new session with the Vevox integration by going to the Vevox Tab at the top, and select the drop-down arrow.
Select the ‘Settings’ option.
Enter the new 9 digit Session ID number. Press the ‘Save’ button. Your new session will now be linked to your current MS Teams or Channel.
How to remove the Vevox tab from your MS Team Channel or Chat
It is easy to remove your Vevox application from your specific MS Team Channel or Chat. Note that you can always add it back to your Teams Channel/Chat at a later stage.
Follow these steps to remove Vevox:
Go to the Vevox Tab at the top, and select the drop downs arrow. Select the ‘Remove’ option.
