There are many ways in which you may want to present your Vevox session to your audience. In this article, we will go through a few different scenarios.
1. Present from my computer (duplicate display)
The most simple and probably one of the most common scenarios if you are running a small meeting session in your workplace or a classroom. Your computer is connected to a projector or TV screen.
The screen on your computer replicates exactly what is being displayed on the projector or TV screen.
In this scenario, you would open the Present view in a new tab of your browser and you can control and present using the presentation view whilst your audience sees exactly the same as what you see on your computer.
This display is ideal for conducting polling and a Q&A board with moderation switched off.
2. Present from my computer (extended desktop)
Another common way of presenting but this gives you a little more versatility in that you can view one thing on your computer screen whilst displaying something else to your audience. Your computer is connected to a projector or TV screen.
With an extended desktop the screen you can extend the viewing capabilities. Your computer shows part of your desktop whilst the projector or TV screen shows the rest of it.
In this scenario, you would open the Present view in a new tab of your browser. This time you would move your browser tab and drag it into the extended display on the projector or TV screen. Now you can view the administration part of the dashboard on your computer whilst displaying the present view to your audience on the projector or TV screen.
This display type is ideal for conducting polling and a Q&A board with moderation switched on. You can view the Q&A questions in the admin dashboard view on your computer and select which ones you want to display to your audience. Or when polling this view allows you to see what the current status of the poll is without your audience also seeing which might sway their vote.
3. Present from another computer
If you are at a larger event where there might be multiple people involved with the organization of your Vevox meeting you might want to start thinking about using multiple computers.
One computer is connected to your projector or TV screen to display to your audience, whilst another computer is logged into your Vevox session to control moderated the Q&A board.
In this scenario, you would need to be logged into your Vevox account on both computers. One computer will be open in present view and the other computer will be open in the dashboard view.
This way of controlling and displaying your Vevox session is perfect when you might have one person taking the responsibility of managing the polling aspect of the session whilst one or more others are assisting with the management of the Q&A.
4. Present from another computer (restricted)
Vevox is used at many different types of meetings, classes or sessions. You might be attending an event with an entire AV team in charge of managing and controlling the meeting.
You might have to give control of your Vevox account over to someone else or maybe the computer that is displaying your Vevox session is situated in a different room and you don't want to leave somebody else with the ability to access your account or control the polling during your meeting. You might just want to set up a display on a tablet for someone so they can keep up with the session but you don't want to give them the ability to control the meeting from that display.
For these scenarios, we have created our Display only link. You can share the Present view with another device and choose the option to Display only. This will give you a link that you can share with others or open up on different computers to show the presentation view safe in the knowledge that people who have this will only be able to view and not control your meeting.
Use the 'Copy a URL to share the present view' option. (See option 3 in this article).
