Key Things to Know About Announcements:
- Announcements are messages sent by the host to the Q&A message board and can be up to 600 characters long.
- Only one announcement can be published and visible at a time—it will always appear pinned at the top of the Q&A board.
- If your Q&A board is empty at the start of a session, you’ll be prompted to post a welcome message or use one of our suggested conversation starters. If no announcement is sent, participants will see: "Please submit your questions and 'Like' those sent by others."
- Announcements can be:
- Created before the session
- Published individually during the session as needed
- Edited, published, or unpublished at any time from the announcement list
- Participants will view them as soon as they are published on the Q&A board.
- Links and emojis 😊 can be included—participants can open links directly from the participant app.
- Announcements are always accessible from the top of your Q&A board in the dashboard, whether moderation is ON or OFF.
- Use announcements to:
- Share next topics
- Give logistical info
- Start or steer conversations
- Encourage engagement or idea sharing
- All announcements will appear in your data report, complete with timestamps.
How to send your first announcement to the Q&A board
To send an announcement follow these steps.
Log in to your Vevox dashboard and select Q&A from the navigation menu.
Click on the 'Manage and publish announcements' button. A pop-up window will appear. You can:
- Choose a conversation starter from the suggested list
- Or type your own custom message
Click ‘Publish’ to send your announcement. It will now appear:
- Pinned at the top of the Q&A board
- In the participant app
- In Present view
- With a distinct background color so it stands out
Create and manage multiple announcements
You can also prepare multiple announcements in advance, ready to be published when needed, or set them up and send them on the fly during the session.
To create multiple announcements:
Follow steps 1–2 as above.
Enter a new announcement message.
Click the ‘+’ (plus) icon to add it to the announcements list.
When ready, click the publish icon next to the relevant message in your list.
The currently active announcement will be highlighted in the dashboard and will appear in Present view and on participants' devices.
