The Vevox timer display is available on all accounts in Present view only.

1. What is a timer display?

The timer display is a tool to add a clear, visual countdown to your session. It helps you manage pacing, keep activities on track, and set clear expectations for your audience during a presentation, class, training session or event.

When activated, the timer appears:

In Present view
In the dashboard and the Present view mirror
In the participant app

The final 10 seconds flash to indicate time is nearly up. (There is no sound alert.)

The maximum duration is 10 hours (600 minutes).

Practical ways to use it in your sessions:

Adding a short title (recommended) helps clarify the timer's purpose.

Manage activity time

“You have 5 minutes to answer the case study.”
“Complete the worksheet in 12 minutes.”
“Speed networking round – 3 minutes per partner.”

Breaks and transitions

“Comfort break – 10 minutes.”
“Coffee break – be back in 15 minutes.”
“Stretch break – 3 minutes.”

Breakout or group work

“Breakout discussion: 25 minutes.”
“Design challenge: 15 minutes to build your solution.”
“Group reflection: 8 minutes.”

Audience participation

“Submit your questions – 5 minutes.”
“Think–Pair–Share – 4 minutes thinking time.”

3. How time is displayed

You enter the time in minutes in the dashboard.
In Present view & app, it displays in hours : minutes : seconds.

Example: Enter 90 minutes will display as 1:30:00.

4. How to add a timer display

Go to 'Polls'.
Click '+ Add content'.
Select 'Timer display' under Non-polling content.
Add a title (optional but recommended).
Enter the time in minutes.
Click 'Create'.

Your timer display will now appear in the dashboard, ready to start in Present view.

5. How to start the timer display

From Present view

Go throught your polls as you normally would using the control bar.
Click the Play button in the control bar to advance to the timer display.
You must manually Start, Pause, or Reset the timer display (reset only works when paused).

From the dashboard

Select the timer display item & click ‘Show content’.
Then select ‘Start timer’.

The timer will begin counting down and appear in the dashboard, Present view and participant app.

When using the dashboard, use the Present view preview image top right to see what it will look like in Present view.

6. How to cancel a timer display

To cancel the timer at any time:

In Present view: Either press the stop button in the control bar (if there are no more polls) or move to the next poll or
In the dashboard: Select the Dismiss button.

7. Edit, duplicate or delete the timer display

You must first dismiss the timer display before you can edit it.

Click the three dots (more options) next to the Timer display in the dashboard to Edit, Duplicate, or Delete.

The timer display is a simple but powerful way to keep your session structured, focused and on schedule — especially when every minute counts.
