If some words aren’t appearing in your word cloud, it’s likely due to one of these three reasons:
1. Profanity Filter
Vevox has a built-in profanity filter that automatically removes offensive words. By default, this filter is enabled for all sessions, but it can be turned off in your settings.
- If a single word is flagged, it will be filtered out.
- If a phrase contains an offensive word, the entire phrase will be removed.
2. Word Frequency & Space Limitations
In word clouds, popular words appear larger based on how often they’re submitted. If your audience is large, less frequently used words might not be visible due to space constraints.
- Don’t worry—all submitted words are still recorded and available in the reporting data, even if they don’t appear in the word cloud.
3. Results Display Settings
By default, Vevox hides results until the poll is closed to prevent influencing responses. If you don’t see words appearing, it may be because:
- The poll is still open, and results will only display when it closes.
- You’re using custom poll settings and need to enable real-time results.
How to show real-time word cloud updates:
Open the word cloud poll in Present View.
Click the ‘Show Results’ button in the control bar.
Watch the word cloud grow dynamically as responses come in.
