What is the Vevox Data API and how does it work?
The Vevox Data API allows for the extraction of large amounts of raw data from high-volume Vevox sessions into a CSV format. This data can then be imported into third-party software, like Tableau or Power BI, for further analysis and visualization.
Important Notes:
- Individual sessions do not require Data API extraction—session reports with visual summaries are already available in the Vevox dashboard for all users with Starter plans and above.
- Only account admins can access Data API reports.
- The Data API does give a view of overall poll results as well as a breakdown of data including
- Session Attendance - Attendance report for specified session
- Session Polls - All poll answers for specified session
- Session Surveys - All survey answers for specified session
- Session Q&A - All Q&A messages for specified session
- Q&A and open text reports will show individual responses only if the session was set to identified mode.
- Polling results are grouped by type (e.g., all multiple-choice polls are compiled into one report, all numeric polls into another, etc.). The same applies to survey data.
- All data is linked to the session ID (9-digit session code).

Example of a Data API extraction
A Vevox host wants to know what his audiences' favorite food is. The host asks the same question to different audiences in multiple sessions. The question in Present view looks like this:
The Vevox data report provides the responses in a downloadable image (PNG) for that specific session.
The Data API will summarise the results of the various sessions as a CSV like this:
