In this article we cover:
What is an authentication code and what is it used for?
The authentication code is just another means of being able to authenticate yourself in order to log into Vevox. In some cases the setup of your organisation or university may require the use of logging in to our Vevox integrations (such as Teams or PowerPoint) with an authentication code instead of using an email and password.
Steps to create your authentication code for MS Teams meeting:
When adding Vevox to Teams you will be prompted to log in. Click on ‘Log in’. Select the option for ‘I have an authentication code’.
Now revert to your Vevox dashboard in your browser. From the session list, click on ‘Settings’ in the main menu on the left. Select ‘Account settings’. Generate an authentication code and copy the code.
Go back to your Teams meeting and paste the code. Press ‘Continue’. Your Teams meeting will now be connected to Vevox. Select the specific Vevox session you want to link to the meeting and press ‘Save’.
A pop-up box will appear asking you to select the meeting session you want to connect to. Click on the relevant meeting session that you setup previously and it will connect automatically. The list of sessions also indicates if the session is in the started, waiting or stopped mode.
Troubleshooting
Should you get an error message when logging in with an authentication code saying "Invalid token. Try again" do the following:
Go back to the authentication code generator in your dashboard.
Re-click the blue button to 'Generate Authentication Code'.
Copy the new code and use the new code to log in to Teams.
