When collecting responses from your audience, you can use two methods:
1. Live Polling
Polling is used in a live setting, whether at an in-person event or an online/hybrid meeting. The presenter controls the pacing, asking questions in real-time while participants respond on their mobile devices. Polling results are displayed via Present view (Vevox’s built-in display) or PowerPoint/ Teams/Zoom(using the Vevox add-ins).
2. Surveys
Surveys allow participants to answer questions at their own pace, anytime—no live session needed. Simply share a survey link, and responses will be captured in the reporting tool. Unlike polling, surveys do not require a live display like Present view or PowerPoint/Teams/Zoom.
Key Features
Both live polling and surveys support multiple-choice, numeric, text, star rating, ranking, LaTeX, and image-based questions. However, word cloud and XY plot questions are exclusive to live polling.
Surveys are the best option if you want participants to complete questions independently without waiting for the host to move to the next poll. They are housed in a separate tab in the app, allowing you to ask self-paced questionnaires or quizzes. A survey also generates a separate sheet for survey reporting in the data report. Note that you cannot add a survey to PPT, as PPT is used in 'live voting'. There is no print view of a survey.
