When asking questions to your participants, audience or students you can ask questions in two ways:
1. Polling: questions asked in a ‘live environment’ be it at an actual event with the audience in front of you or at an online/hybrid meeting or class where you stream your video through a webcast service.
As a presenter, you can determine the pace at which the questions are asked while your participants use their mobile devices to answer those questions. When you use polling, you will always share your presentation either through Present view or through PowerPoint on a computer or a big screen.
Present view is Vevox’s own audience display. When you use PowerPoint, you will use the Vevox PowerPoint add-in on the Windows operating system.
2. Surveys: questions that are asked in an ‘offline environment’. Your participants can answer these questions in their own time and at their own pace. No live event, online meeting or class is needed. You provide your participants or students with a link to the survey and they complete the questions from their mobile devices. The data captured will be available in the reporting functionality. No present view or PowerPoint presentation is needed.
In both live polling and surveys, you can use multichoice, numeric, text, star rating, ranking, LaTex questions and use images in questions. (With live polling you can also use the word cloud and XY plot question types.)
When you want your participants to answer questions on their own without the host having to close one poll before asking the next, the alternative is to use the survey functionality. The survey functionality is a separate tab within the app and allows you to do self-paced questionnaires or quizzes. A survey also generates a separate sheet for survey reporting in the data report.
