Remember you can always use our ready to use sample surveys to help you get started.
Understanding the Difference
Surveys can be completed at participants’ own pace and in their own time. They do not require a live meeting or shared screen—just a mobile device/iPad, or laptop. Surveys work in ‘offline’ mode.
Polls, on the other hand, are used in real-time during live events, online/hybrid meetings, or classes. They’re only open while the session is active. Participants vote live using their mobile devices while viewing the presentation on a big screen or computer.
Reusing Survey and Poll Content
Surveys can be exported and imported between sessions, making it easy to reuse your content without rebuilding from scratch. You can also:
Export surveys and import them into a poll session.
Export polls and import them into a survey session.
Follow these instructions to export a survey and import it into a poll session
Before importing surveys the first step is to create a Vevox import file that contains the information related to a survey. This is done by exporting a survey or multiple surveys that you have previously created.
To export a survey:
Select Surveys from the navigation menu.
Select the checkbox of the survey to be exported.
When one or more survey has been selected a series of options appear at the top of the survey list.
Select 'Export'.
This action will download a ZIP file to your default downloads folder. The file contains all the questions from the selected survey(s) and can be stored or shared for future use.
- You can export multiple surveys at once—they’ll be saved together in one ZIP file.
- If you want separate files for each survey, export them one at a time.
Import Surveys into Polls
Follow these steps to import your poll(s):
Create a new session and give it a name.
Select ‘Polls’ from the navigation menu.
Press the '+ Add Content’ button.
A pop-up content selection modal will appear. Select 'Import from a file'. Click on the 'Upload File'.
Find and select your Vevox import file (ZIP format).
A warning pop-up menu will appear indicating that you are importing a survey into a poll session.
By default, all survey questions contained within the file will be split into individual polls. A preview will be shown. Tick the boxes next to the questions you want to import.
Click ‘Import’ to proceed.
You’ll be prompted to start your session before launching any polls and before any responses can be accepted.
Only the questions are imported—no previous response data is included.
After collecting responses and closing your polls, go to the ‘Data’ tab in the navigation menu to access reporting.
