We know you are a loyal user of our Legacy PPT Add-in but heard about its eventual retirement in favor of the Office 365 Add-in. Don’t fret! Migrating your beloved polls over doesn't have to be a headache. Be assured that the Office 365 PPT Add-in updates continually to bring you more functionality and poll types.
Here's the roadmap:
Step 1:
Go to your PPT presentation with the polls you want to convert. Ensure to run the polls in the Legacy PPT Add-in. As soon as a poll has been run/asked it will create a copy of the poll in the connected session in the Vevox dashboard. (If you have not run it yet, you can simulate asking the polls, and it will add the polls into the Vevox dashboard.)
Step 2:
From the Vevox dashboard, duplicate the session, give it a new name, and delete the polls you do not need.
Step 3:
Time to embrace the new Office 365 Add in. Back in PPT, open the Vevox Office 365 Add-in, connect to your newly created session, and see the polls appear in the task pane of PPT. From here add them to your presentation. Your polls are now equipped with all the snazzy Office 365 features, ready to impress in your PowerPoint presentations.
To convert your legacy PPT Add-in polls to the Office 365 PPT Add-in follow these steps:
Step 1: Log in and connect
Log into the Legacy Add-in and connect to the session containing polls you want to convert.
If you have already run or asked those polls, open your Vevox dashboard, locate the session containing your polls, and ensure they're all present and accounted for. Once confirmed, navigate back to your session in the session list.
Step 2: Duplicate the session and give it a new name
Duplicate the session, give it a new name, and delete any polls that you don’t need. You can also add new polls to the session in the dashboard.
Additional step to simulate running the polls:
Navigate to your PowerPoint presentation containing the polls you'd like to convert, ensuring your session is connected to PPT. Since the polls have not been 'run' yet, they won't appear in your Vevox Dashboard.
Enter slide show mode in PowerPoint and proceed through the presentation as if participants were actively engaging, pressing the Enter button to progress through the slides. From Open poll, Close poll to Showing results.
Once you've reached the end of your presentation, your Vevox dashboard will display the polls.
Step 3: Embracing the Office 365 PPT Add-in
Start by opening a fresh, blank PowerPoint presentation. If you fancy, you can jazz it up with a design theme to add a touch of professionalism.
Click on the Office 365 Add-in and connect to the newly created session.
Remember to start your session and then add your joining instructions and polls to your presentation.
Once everything's set, present your polls with the new Office 365 Add-in, and don't forget to save your presentation for future reference. And you are done! You'll find all the detailed results neatly compiled in the data report within the dashboard.
