Do you need an alternative to Slido? You can quickly convert your existing Slido polls, surveys and quizzes using the Vevox Excel import template—or, if you prefer, by using a handy community-built shortcut tool.
It’s a simple four-step process to get your Slido content into the Vevox dashboard and ready to run—whether you’ve already used those polls or not.
Steps to Convert Slido Polls to Vevox
Step 1: Export your Slido polls
Go to your Slido session’s Analytics tab.
Click the 'Export' button.
From the dropdown, select 'Download export'.
In the pop-up, choose ‘Poll Results’ in Excel. And click on 'Save'. The file will be named like this: Polls-Overall-[Slido Session Name].xlsx. (This file includes all your poll content in a vertical Excel format.)
Step 2: Download the Vevox Excel import template
Using the manual process, follow the steps below. Alternatively use the shortcut conversion tool in Step 3.
From the polls section in your dashboard, click on ‘+Add content’.
Click ‘Import from a file’.
And select ‘Download sample template’. This template is pre-formatted to match Vevox’s polling structure.
Step 3: Add your Slido polls to the Vevox template
Use the Vevox template Explanatory notes on the second sheet to help guide you.
- The Vevox template shows each poll on a horizontal row.
- In contrast, Slido exports each poll vertically, with one poll spread across multiple rows.
- Example: An MCQ poll may take up 5 rows—one per choice option.
- Each poll has a unique ID to help track which rows belong to the same poll.
What to copy from the Slido file:
- Poll Type
- Poll Question
- Poll Options
Paste them into the Vevox Excel template, following its structure. Save your changes.
- You can import the following poll types: Multiple Choice (MCQ), Word cloud, Ranking, Open Text & Rating scale.
- Slido does not offer Numeric polls. Remove any numeric rows from the Vevox template.
- Import Slido quizzes into Vevox quiz polls. Remember to indicate the question type when populating the Vevox template (MCQ, Ranking, Rating etc).
- When adding quiz questions to the Vevox template, make sure to include the correct answer and, optionally, a correct answer explanation. Vevox will automatically detect it as a quiz question and enable the option to show a leaderboard once the question is asked and answered.
- No images will be imported. They would need to be added manually.
- If you’d prefer to skip the manual copy-and-paste process in Step 3, check out the Shortcut Converter below.
