1. Start a poll
Click the Play button to launch a poll. If you have not asked any polls yet, Present view will start from the Q&A board and then open your poll.
2. Stop a poll
Click the Stop button to close the poll. Watch the counter in the top right corner to ensure most participants have voted before closing.
3. Moving to the next poll
Once a poll is closed, the next one appears ready to be launched when you hit play again. You control the pacing and guide the conversation as the session progresses.
Note you can add additional polls once your session is live. Go to the dashboard and add your new poll. It will appear at the bottom of your polls list.
4. Hide/display voting results
By default, Vevox displays results when a poll closes. If you prefer to hide them, press the Hide Results button. The screen will revert to the Q&A board. Click the icon again to reveal the results.
To change the default settings to hide all poll results for this session:
Go to Settings in your dashboard.
Under the Polls section, disable 'display result on poll close'. (The Display real-time results must also be toggled off.)
Click Save.
5. View the next poll
Hover over the question in the control bar to preview upcoming polls, past polls, and results.(Look at the small icon next to each question.) When you click next to the pop-up window, it will disappear again.
6. Skip polls
To skip polls, click the secondary Play button next to the poll you want to run. This can only be done after closing the previous poll and displaying results.
Example: you asked poll #3, it has some results and you are jumping straight to poll #6.
Use the interactive functions of Present view by clicking on images to enlarge it or highlighting comments in text polls.
7. Display non-polling content
When you have non-polling content in your presentation display, continue to the next display by pressing the play button. Instead of opening a poll, it will display the next presentation content. Select the Play button to move on to the next item or poll. When the scrollbar is present, you can move down to display more content. Remember to click on the actual video to start and stop your Youtube video.
8. Reopen a poll
If you close a poll too soon, click Reopen in the control bar. Previous responses remain, and participants can either keep their answers or change them. New participants can still vote. When you have the bar chart and pie chart icons on the right side, you can jump between different display types for the same poll.
9. Cancel a poll
To cancel a poll without switching browser windows from the dashboard:
- If no votes have been received, click the X icon to cancel the poll and return to the Q&A board.
- If votes have been received, click the bin icon to cancel the poll. A warning will appear that votes will be lost.
Now that the poll is canceled, you can:
- Use the Play button to open the same poll
- Or skip this poll entirely - read point 6 above.
10. Use a countdown timer
Click Start Timer to launch a 10-second countdown. You can pause or extend the timer. The poll will close automatically when time runs out. Read this article for more details.
11. Show a correct answer
Once a poll is closed, click the checkmark icon to display the correct answer (if previously set up).
12. Show the leaderboard
If your session includes correct answers, you can display a leaderboard by clicking the Show Leaderboard icon. A summary appears on Present View, while participant devices show individual scores.
- If running an anonymous session, no names appear.
- No leaderboard icon will show if you have not set up any correct answers in your meeting.
- When you click on the 'Full list' option the individual names will appear as well. If it is an anonymous session, no names will appear.
- You can also click on the speed leaderboard to ensure there are no ties.
13. Switch to the Q&A board while a live poll is open
You can navigate to the Q&A board while a poll remains open by pressing the shortcut in the control bar. This allows you to discuss items on the Q&A board without disrupting the polling. (Note: Participant devices will stay on the open poll). You can address the crucial issues from here before moving on to the next poll.
An indicator at the top of the Q&A board will show that a poll is still open, with a shortcut to return to polling.
14. Go fullscreen
Use the Fullscreen shortcut to enter or exit fullscreen mode.
15. Additional functionality
Click the Options menu (three dots) next to a question for additional features:
- Adjust the font size using the slider — move it right to make the text larger, or left to make it smaller and fit more responses. The default setting is always Medium for every session. If the image, text, or poll results are too large to fit your screen, a scrollbar will appear, allowing you to scroll down and view everything.
3. Use the dashboard view to clear results, launch new polls, or push results to participants. By default, Present View returns to the Q&A board between polls (unless deactivated).
4. Interactive function of Present view - If a poll includes an image in the question title or answer options (for MCQs), you can click the image to enlarge it. For word cloud polls, both the image and the word cloud can be expanded.
Depending on your Vevox plan, you can also switch between different poll result views, including bar charts, pie charts, number clouds, column charts, and ordered lists.
16. Enlarge or hide a comment/question in the Q&A board
To highlight a specific comment, click on it to enlarge it. Click anywhere to return it to normal. To remove a comment, use the Hide icon. Replies can be displayed before archiving.
(Note: all comments will still appear in the data report even if they are hidden)
17. When the control bar disappears from view
The control bar hides automatically when inactive for a clearer view. To reactivate it, hover over any part of Present View.

18. Adding sound to your presentation in Present view
Want to add sound effects to your polls? While Present View doesn’t have built-in sound clips, you can:
- Add countdown timer sounds (eight options available).
- Play external audio (e.g., Spotify, YouTube) while running a poll.(Use a second computer to manage your own sound clips manually. Option 3 under the presenting options. )
Tip: Keep sound clips short (under 30 seconds) for the best experience.
