1. To set the correct answer do the following:
Create your poll.
Set the correct answer(s) by selecting 'Set Correct Answer' next to the choices.
Press 'Create'.
2. Correct answer explanation
Sometimes it is not enough to share the right answer only. You might want to include an explanation of why it is the right answer or give some background information. This is a great tool if you are testing knowledge, running a quiz, or educating participants. Setting up a correct answer explanation is optional. Should you prefer not to use it, leave the correct answer explanation box blank. Once you have set up the correct answer explanation, it will automatically appear in Present view next to the polling question. It will appear after the poll was closed and you selected to have the correct answer displayed.
To set up the correct answer explanation:
Create your poll.
Set the correct answer(s) by selecting 'Set Correct Answer' next to the choices.
Then scroll down to the 'Correct Answer Explanation' box and type in your response.
Press 'Save'.
3. Correct answers in Ranking polls
When you are using a ranking poll, note that you can only set up a correct answer when you choose the 'Rank the choices in the correct order' option (not the rank in order by preference).
When setting up the choices, allocate the correct answer order next to the choice options.
You can also add a correct answer explanation should you wish. As with all correct answer explanations, it will only appear in Present view once the correct answer is revealed. Vevox will set the number of allowed selections a participant can make to equal the number of choice options.
When the poll is closed, present view will first show the most common responses from all the participants.
And when the correct answer is revealed, it will show the correct order of the poll & correct answer explanation.
4. Correct answers in Numeric polls
When you want to set a correct answer in a numeric poll, slide the 'set correct answer' to the right. Now enter your correct number. For more information on setting up error margins & decimal places read this article. Also add your correct answer explanation (optional).
5. Correct answers in Text polls
When setting the correct answer for Text polls you are able to set one or more answers as the correct answer. This is so you can accommodate slightly different spellings of an answer that participants might give.
Don't worry about upper case or lower case characters when judging whether the answer is correct. In Vevox the upper or lower case is automatically disregarded so your participants just have to ensure they spell the answer correctly. You can set up to 15 correct answer options for text polls.
We recommend you keep these answers short to one or two words. If the correct answer is longer than this it is unlikely that participants will get it exactly right.
6. When using the dashboard to present:
After the polling results have been displayed to your participants there is the option to toggle the correct answer indicator on or off from the bottom of the question in the dashboard. This indicates which option is correct on all participant devices.
7. When using present view to present:
You can also decide to show the correct answers from the control panel in Present view. Or to just skip to the next poll.
8. Reporting when using correct answers:
In addition to indicating the correct answer on devices it is also possible to view the correct responses in the data report. A worksheet in the report keeps track of how many answers each participant has answered correctly. Check out the tab called 'Polling Results' for correct answers in live polls or 'Survey Results' for correct answers in survey questions.
9. Changing the correct answer
When you want to change or remove the correct answer, go back to your answer option by using the 'Edit poll' functionality and select remove answer or type in a new choice.
