Supported video platforms
Vevox webcast works with:
- YouTube Live
- Vimeo Live/Livestream
- Facebook Live
- IBM Cloud Video (formerly Ustream)
How to add live video to your Vevox session
Step 1: Create your video
Set up your live stream or recorded video on your chosen platform.
You will need the embed link (not just the regular sharing link).
For live streaming platforms like YouTube or Facebook Live, make sure you copy the embed URL, not the standard watch link.
Step 2: Find your embed link
Each platform provides an embed option. You’ll usually find it under: Share > Embed
Your link should:
- Start with https
- Contain platform-specific embed formatting (see examples below)
Step 3: Enable Webcast in Vevox
Log in to your Vevox Dashboard and select the session you want to embed the video in.
Select Settings in the side menu and click on Integrations
Scroll to Webcast & click 'Enable Webcast'
Paste your embed link into the field: “Enter webcast/webinar URL” & click Save.
You can test this before your session — just make sure your video is live and accessible.
What participants see
On mobile
- Video opens in full screen.
- Participants can minimise the video at any time.
- They can answer polls, post Q&A comments, or complete surveys while watching.
On desktop
- Video displays side-by-side with the Vevox session.
- Polls automatically appear even if participants are viewing Q&A or watching the video.
Everything updates in real time.
