1. Switching between different Vevox sessions
How session reconnection works
When you reopen a PowerPoint file containing Vevox polls, the add-in will automatically reconnects to the Vevox session that PowerPoint file was last connected to.
Any poll created in the side panel will be reflected in the connected Vevox session - you can check it in the dashboard.
Switching to a different session
If you want to link your existing slide deck to a different Vevox session, you'll need to resolve any mismatched polls before the connection completes.
When you switch sessions, the side panel displays a "Missing Questions" message. This means the polls in your slide deck don't yet exist in the newly selected session. You'll be prompted to either add or delete each poll.
To switch sessions successfully:
Review the polls listed in the side panel.
First delete any polls you don't want to carry over to the new session. These will also be removed from your slide deck.
Then add the remaining polls you want to replicate in the new session. You can select all polls or individual ones.
Repeat until all polls have been assigned an action. You must action every poll before the connection completes.
If you switch to a session that already contains polls, those will also appear in the side panel.
Example
You have 5 polls in your slide deck and want to carry 3 across to a new empty session. Delete the 2 you don't need, then add the remaining 3. The deleted polls are removed from your slide deck, and only the 3 added polls remain.
2. Quick access the Vevox dashboard
Last-minute changes to your presentation might require you to change some session settings.
PowerPoint gives you quick & easy access to your Vevox dashboard to make changes including:
- changing the way your participant application looks,
- changing the identification settings of your participants,
- turning on moderation for Q&A, or
- sharing your session with a colleague.
When your Vevox session is connected to your PowerPoint presentation, in the task pane on the right side of your presentation, select the three dots next to the session name. Then select the 'Open Vevox Dashboard' option. Your Vevox dashboard will automatically open to the session that your PowerPoint is connected to.

When your Vevox session is connected to your PowerPoint presentation, in the task pane on the right side of your presentation, select the three dots (next to the session name). Then select the 'Help' option.
