How to set the correct answer for a Text poll:
When setting the correct answer for Text polls you are able to set one or more answers as the correct answer. This is so you can accommodate slightly different spellings of an answer that participants might give.
We recommend you keep these answers short or two words. If the correct answer is longer than this, it is unlikely that participants will get it exactly right.
When correct answers are submitted, they will be visible at the bottom of the slide on poll close as well as in the participant app.
When setting up a correct answer for your text question, follow these steps:
Set up the question in the PowerPoint Add-in and ensure you select it as a text question.
Then enter all the possible correct answers in the new text box taking correct spelling and spacing into considerations.
Four tips when setting correct answers:
- Remember the participants needs to supply the correct spelling for the system to allocate a point for correct answers.
- Capital or lower-case letters do not influence the correctness of the answer.
- It is advisable to keep the correct answer to one or two words, to give your participants a better chance of getting the answer right.
- Give as many as possible correct answers to enable participants to get the question correct.
When the participants answer the text question, their voting results will not appear on the PowerPoint slide. But it will be saved directly in the data report that is accessible at the end of the polling.
After the participants have answered the question and the poll has been closed, the correct answer will appear on the PowerPoint slide and not on participant devices. This text box can also be animated or formatted in PowerPoint.
