Easily Repeat Sessions for Different Groups
Reusing/resetting a session allows you to run the same polls, quizzes, surveys, or Q&A with different participant groups without changing the session ID or QR codes. Each time you reset a session, a separate data report is generated and archived in your session history, making it easy to keep track of responses from different sessions. Participants can use the same login details, and you can easily restart the session. If no changes are needed, it's best to reuse a session rather than duplicate it.
This feature is only available to Pro, Institution and Enterprise accounts.
In this article we cover the following:
- Why and how to reuse a session
- Steps to reset a session
- How to download or delete your session history
Why Reuse a Session?
If you need to repeat a session across departments, training sessions, campuses, or offices, reusing a session ensures you collect separate data reports for each group while maintaining consistency in content. This helps identify key issues for each audience without merging responses and simplify report back content & data reports.
How Resetting Works
When you reset a session:
- A new version of the session data is automatically saved in your session history (e.g., “Session Name v1”).
- You can rename the archived data report for easy identification.
- The session is cleared of all previous data and is ready for reuse.
- Resetting a session is permanent and cannot be undone.
- The latest session data is saved until you reset it again.
- Each reset creates a separate Excel data report, stored in the session history with no result images.
- Session history keeps individual session data separate (not merged together).
- Reports can be downloaded individually or in bulk.
- If you need result images, consider duplicating the session instead of resetting it, rename it and keep the data report separate for each session.
- Reset your session after a test run to ensure it's ready for the real event.

Steps to reset a session:
Click ‘Reset Session’ in the Data section of the main menu. A confirmation popup will appear, explaining that all poll results, survey responses, and Q&A messages will be cleared and archived in session history. (This is the same information as when you choose to download the data report.) Click Reset.
Rename the archived report for easy tracking. The saved Excel file appears in the session history panel. Click the three dots (more options) next to the session name and select 'Rename'.
Your session data is cleared and ready to use again. All participation stats (total participants, active participants, and interactions) reset to zero to indicate a fresh start.
Repeat this process for each new participant group.
How to download or delete your session history:
-
Download reports in bulk by selecting the checkbox next to relevant reports and clicking the Download option.
-
Delete reports from session history if needed
