A word cloud is a collection or cluster of words depicted in different sizes, or an image that visualizes the most important words. The bigger and bolder the word appears, the more often it’s mentioned within a given poll and the more important it is. Remember, participants can send in multiple responses, either as an individual word or a short phrase. Twenty is the maximum number of letters per response. Participants can also use emojis in their feedback that will display in the word cloud.
To create a word cloud poll:
In the Polls section select the '+ Add Content' button.
Select 'Word Cloud' as the poll type.
Enter the 'Question title' or question of your poll. It is optional to add rich text formatting (bold, underline, italics paragraph break) to the question title.
If you prefer, add an image to the poll question by clicking on the picture icon. Either upload a preferred image from your computer or use the built-in library of licensed images. (If you have a Free account, you will not have access to this feature.)
Optional extra step: Ensure 'Display real time results' are turned on in the custom poll settings if you want to see your word cloud grows bigger as the results come in.
Press 'Create'.
When the results of the poll are displayed they will appear as a word cloud with the most frequently used words or short phrases appearing larger compared to words used less frequently.
How to enlarge your word cloud
If your word cloud has an image next to it, you can enlarge the word cloud by clicking on it (as with the image). We recommend using a portrait-oriented image instead of landscape, as it fits better alongside the word cloud.
How to download your word cloud report
Navigate to the 'Data' section in the main menu and scroll down till you reach the word cloud question.
Then select the option 'Download as an image' to get a PNG file with the word cloud results displayed.
Turning your profanity filter on or off for world cloud
The profanity filter, will as a default be turned on for all participant comments in the Q&A message board, all text responses, or for word clouds.
If you wish to disable or enable it for a specific session, follow these steps:
Go to your session list.
Select the session you want to change.
Select 'Settings' in the navigation menu.
Select the 'Session Setup' section.
Toggle the profanity filter setting between 'on' or 'off'
Press 'Save'.
