World cloud polls are available on Starter plans and up. Do you want to upgrade your account?
A word cloud is a visual display of words submitted by your participants. The more a word is mentioned, the bigger and bolder it appears — making it easy to spot the most popular responses at a glance.
Depending on how you set up your word cloud, participants can submit a single word or a short phrase, and you can choose to limit how many responses each person can send. Responses can be up to 20 characters long, and participants can even throw in an emoji or two to keep things fun!
To create a word cloud poll:
In the Presentation section select the '+ Add Content' button.
Select 'Word Cloud' as the poll type.
Enter the 'Question title' of your poll. It is optional to add rich text formatting (bold, underline, italics paragraph break) to the question title.
Number of responses - Set how many responses each participant can send. The default is unlimited, but you can restrict this to between one and five times.
Displaying real-time results (optional) - Ensure 'Display real time results' are turned on in the poll settings if you want to see your word cloud grow as the results come in.
Changes you make to the poll are autosaved. You can press 'Done' to exit the edit mode.
When the results of the poll are displayed they will appear as a word cloud with the most frequently used words or short phrases appearing larger compared to words used less frequently.
How to enlarge your word cloud
If your word cloud has an image next to it, you can enlarge the word cloud by clicking on it (as with the image). We recommend using a portrait-oriented image instead of landscape, as it fits better alongside the word cloud.
Analyze word cloud responses with AI
Word clouds can collect a large number of responses, making them difficult to interpret quickly. To help identify trends and guide discussions, Vevox includes two AI-powered analysis options: theme analysis and sentiment analysis.
After responses have been received and the word cloud has been closed, from Present view, select the 'analysis icon' to the right of the data display. Then choose either theme analysis or sentiment analysis. Click on the analysis icon again to revert back to the full word cloud.
Theme analysis
Theme analysis uses AI to group similar responses into relevant themes. This provides a quick summary of the main topics and trends captured in the word cloud, making it easier to identify common ideas at a glance.
Hover over a theme to see which comments it was generated from.
Sentiment analysis
Sentiment analysis uses AI to identify whether responses are positive, neutral, or negative and displays the results as a percentage breakdown.
Click on the sentiment key to highlight matching responses in the following colors:
- Positive = Green
- Neutral = Grey
- Negative = Red
Important notes:
- Analysis is currently only available in Present view and is not included in the data report.
- To save the analysis results, take a screenshot from the Present view screen. This can also be done after the session is closed.
- The first time you open the analysis, AI may take 5–10 seconds to process the responses before displaying the results.
How to download your word cloud report
Navigate to the 'Data' section in the main navigation and scroll down till you reach the word cloud question.
Then select the option 'Download as an image' to get a PNG file with the word cloud results displayed.
Turning your profanity filter on or off for world cloud
The profanity filter, will as a default be turned on for all participant comments in the Q&A message board, all text responses, or for word clouds.
If you wish to disable or enable it for a specific session, follow these steps:
Go to your session list & Select the session you want to change.
Select 'Settings' in the navigation menu.
Select the 'Session Setup' section.
Toggle the profanity filter setting between 'on'
