Step 1: Log in to Vevox & create a new session
- Go to the Vevox login page.
- Sign in using your credentials (if your institution is on an institutional plan login with your university credentials).
- Select ‘Create Session’.
- Give the session a clear name, including the module code:
- Example: Mid‑Module Feedback (PSYC0040)
Step 2: Add a survey to the session
- Within the session, go to Surveys and ‘Create New’.
- Either:
- Select a template or shared question set (recommended).
- Many departments/institutions reuse a standard mid‑module survey and simply duplicate it for each module.
- OR, Create a short survey from scratch.
- Remember to keep it simple and short and a mix of question types.

Step 3: Check anonymity and settings (optional)
- Check the survey is set to anonymous.
- If this is a feedback‑only session, you may want to disable Q&A to avoid confusion.
- Edit the student welcome text to briefly explain:
- What the feedback is for
- How long will it take
- How responses will be used
- Find the survey on the tab notated with a clipboard icon
Step 4: Share the session (if needed)
- If someone else will run the session, share the session with the relevant lecturer or module convenor.
This is commonly used when multiple staff teach the same module, or when a central department member creates and sets up Vevox activities on your behalf.
Step 5: Get the survey ready to go
- Click Start session (if not already done, to allow the session to be accessed).
- Click Open survey (to allow students to start entering responses into your survey).
- (if needed) You can link Vevox activities to your VLE/LMS and integrate the data if this has been set up for your institution.
Step 6: Provide the students with the QR code (and/or link)
- Display the QR code to students.
- It’s best to show the QR code at the beginning of the session, not at the end.
- Give students 5–10 minutes immediately to complete it.
- Briefly explain:
- Why are you asking for feedback
- That responses are anonymous
- How you’ll use the feedback
Allocating time in‑session is one of the biggest factors in achieving good response rates.
Step 7: Close the survey
- Once most students have responded, close the survey.
- You can leave it open longer if needed, but most responses come during the live window.
Step 8: Review and download results
After the session:
- View results directly in Vevox.
