By managing the Q&A board effectively, you can keep discussions focused, control the pace, and ensure a smoother session experience.
The Q&A board in Vevox can be turned on, paused, or disabled at any time. By default, it is enabled, allowing participants to:
- View all messages on the Q&A board.
- Submit new questions and ideas.
- Like and upvote other messages.
The Q&A status is displayed in the dashboard so you can easily see whether it is active, paused, or turned off.
Pausing the Q&A Board
If your Q&A board is getting too many messages or you need to move on to another topic, you can place it ‘On-Pause’. This allows participants to still view the Q&A board but prevents them from adding new messages or likes.
When should you pause the Q&A?
- To slow down incoming messages and answer existing questions before receiving new ones.
- When discussing a sensitive topic, to manage the conversation more effectively.
How to Pause the Q&A Board:
Go to Q&A in the navigation menu.
Click the dropdown arrow next to ‘Q&A board’.
Select ‘On-Pause’. Participants will still see the Q&A board, but they won’t be able to submit or upvote messages.
Disabling the Q&A Board
If you are running a session that does not require Q&A, such as polling-only events, you may want to disable this feature entirely. When disabled, participants will not see the Q&A board on their devices.
How to Disable the Q&A Board:
Go to Q&A in the navigation menu.
Click the dropdown arrow next to ‘Q&A board’.
Select ‘Turn off’. The Q&A feature will now be fully disabled.
Alternative Method:
In the dashboard, go to Settings in the main navigation, select the Q&A section, click on the dropdown menu, select 'Turn off' and Click Save.
