The Q&A board can be enabled, paused or disabled at any time. The default setting is ON.
When the Q&A board is turned on, participants will be able to view all the messages in the Q&A board. They will also be able to send in new questions and ideas and like other messages.
The description below the Q&A board will indicate the Q&A status.
Pausing the Q&A board
There might be instances where your Q&A board has enough messages, or you want to move on to another topic. When you place the Q&A board on 'On-Pause' participants will be able to view the Q&A board without being able to add more comments or likes.
Q&A Pausing will be beneficial at times when comments are coming in at a high pace, whereby you may want to slow things down a bit so you can answer and respond to everyone’s comments. Or in situations where you may be covering a sensitive topic – by pausing the Q&A, you can control the pace and manage the discussion to avoid any tension or misunderstandings.
To pause the Q&A board:
When you are logged into your session, select Q&A from the navigation menu on the left.
Click on the dropdown arrow next to the words 'Q&A board'.
Select the 'On-Pause' option. The 'On' status will immediately change so that participants can still view the Q&A but not send or upvote any more messages.
Turning the Q&A board off
You might run a session solely using polling without requiring Q&A or a discussion. If that's the case you might want to disable this feature so your participants can't see the Q&A board on their mobile devices.
To disable the Q&A board:
When you are logged in, select Q&A from the navigation menu on the left.
Click on the dropdown arrow next to the words Q&A board.
Select the 'Turn off' option. The 'On' status will immediately change to 'Off' and no Q&A functionality will be available.
Another alternative is to go to the Settings menu in your session and select the 'Features' tab. Then turn the Q&A board off and press the 'Save' button.
