When running a Q&A session in Vevox, you have two options for managing messages:
1. Moderation OFF – Messages appear instantly for everyone to see in Present view and on participant devices.
2. Moderation ON – Every message must be reviewed before it is displayed.
With moderation off, there is no need to approve messages before they appear, allowing an open and free-flowing conversation.
How the Q&A Board Works with Moderation OFF
When moderation is off, all participant messages will be immediately visible to everyone. You can still manage messages using the Vevox dashboard, where you’ll see two lists:
- Published – Messages currently visible to all participants. All new messages automatically appear here.
- Archived – Messages that have been removed from view (but not deleted). You can archive messages that are off-topic, irrelevant, or already answered.
Archiving Messages
To remove a message from public view without deleting it permanently: Click the "Move to" icon next to the message.
Select "Move to Archive" – the message will now be hidden from participants but still appear in the dashboard and in the data report. You can also move the message back from archive to the published list.
You can permanently delete messages if needed, but archiving is a safer option, as archived messages remain available in reporting.
Sending Announcements & Managing Messages
- Announcements are messages sent by the host to the participants.
- Sorting Messages in the dashboard. You can sort messages by, Most recent, Most liked & Favorites (Hosts can mark messages with a star to prioritize them.)
- Replying to Q&A Messages - Hosts can respond to messages directly within the dashboard, making their replies visible to all participants in Present view as well as the Participant App. Learn more about replying to Q&A messages.
