All Vevox plans include access to the Q&A board, where participants can upvote comments or questions.
In the Q&A board, ‘Most Likes’ or ‘upvotes’ are an easy way for participants to express approval or support for a particular comment or question. When a participant upvotes a comment, it indicates that they find the content valuable, interesting, or relevant. Upvotes are also helpful for identifying the most pressing issues.
Conversely, a downvote allows participants to indicate that they find a comment irrelevant, unhelpful, or disapprove of it.
Just as upvotes can elevate a comment's position on the Q&A board when sorted by ‘Most Likes,’ downvotes can lower the overall ranking of that comment.
Rest assured, the number of downvotes will never be displayed to participants if the cumulative score for a comment falls below zero. Instead, a negative indicator will be shown. However, the host will always have access to a detailed breakdown of votes in the dashboard and the data report.
While all plans include access to the ‘Most Likes’ or upvotes feature, downvoting requires a Presenter plan or higher. Would you like to upgrade?
Activating the upvote feature
The upvote feature is automatically enabled as soon as the Q&A board is live and cannot be disabled. Here, in this example, the Present view comments are sorted by 'Most Likes,' with the highest upvoted comment appearing at the top.
How upvotes work:
- As soon as a comment or question appears on the Q&A board in the participant app, participants can upvote it.
- Participants can only upvote a comment once.
- Participants can upvote their own comments.
- Clicking the upvote button again will remove the upvote from the comment.
- Remember to sort the Q&A board by 'Most Likes' to ensure the most pressing issues are displayed at the top.
The dashboard will display the same upvote count. You can use the filter in your Q&A board to automatically sort comments by Most Liked, Most Recent, or Oldest.
Activating the downvote feature
The downvote feature can be toggled on or off beforehand or mid-session. If downvotes are turned off mid-session, upvotes will remain unchanged, and any downvotes will be disregarded.
How downvotes work:
Once downvotes are enabled in the dashboard, participants can choose to upvote, downvote, or abstain from voting on a comment.
Dashboard view
The host will see a breakdown of the number of upvotes and downvotes for each comment in the Q&A board.
Present View
Participants will only see the cumulative or total score of upvotes and downvotes in Present view.
Participant App
In the app, participants will see the cumulative score next to each comment. If the cumulative score is below zero, it will not display a negative score, but rather indicate a "<0" score for downvotes.
Data Report
The data report will offer a detailed summary of upvotes and downvotes. If identification is enabled, you won't be able to see which participants voted for specific comments; you'll only see the total number of upvotes and downvotes for each comment.
