This article we explain how to:
- Share a ‘Read-only’ display of the Q&A board.
- Share the ‘Moderation functionality’ of the Q&A board.
As a meeting host, you can grant a colleague, organizer, or moderator full control over your Vevox session by sharing your session (see this article). However, there are instances when you may want to share only the Q&A message board. This can be done in two ways:
- Read-only display: Ideal for preparation.
- Moderation access: Enables editing and moderating the Q&A messages.
Sharing the Q&A board is particularly useful for involving non-paid Vevox members, as only the session host needs a paid subscription. Full session sharing, by contrast, requires both the host and the colleague to have paid memberships.
A. Sharing the ‘Read-only’ Display of the Q&A Board
The ‘Read-only’ display is designed for panelists or facilitators to view and prepare for Q&A sessions. Since this list cannot be edited, it’s a great way to provide an overview of audience questions beforehand.
Step 1: Create the Q&A Message List
Navigate to the Q&A section from your Vevox dashboard.
Click the 'Share Q&A' button and select the ‘Read-only’ option.
Customize the list:
- Choose which messages to include (e.g., Needs Review, Reviewed, Published, or Archived).
- Set sorting preferences (e.g., newest, oldest, or most liked).
- Apply filters for specific comments, like favorites.
- (Optional) Add a passcode for extra security.
You can create multiple lists. Each list will have a unique QR code or URL link. Details like the list name and sorting method will appear in the top-right corner for reference.
To remove outdated lists, click the three dots next to the list name and select Delete.
Step 2: Share the list
- Send the link or QR code to your panelists or facilitators.
- If Moderation is turned off, you can only share the Published or Archived list
B: Sharing the ‘Moderation functionality’ of the Q&A board
When you need a colleague to assist with moderating Q&A messages while you control the other Vevox features like polling, you can share the moderation link. This grants your colleagues full control over the Q&A board, including:
- Sending host messages.
- Moving messages between lists (e.g., Needs Review to Reviewed or Published).
- Marking favorites or archiving unwanted comments.
For security, it’s recommended to protect this link with a passcode.
Steps to Share Moderation Access to your Q&A board
When in the Q&A section, select the moderation icon in the top right-hand corner.
Ensure the Moderation feature is active (sea green). If it’s gray, toggle it on.
Click the ‘Moderator link’ button to generate a link. The popup will now expand with a passcode & URL display link.
Create a passcode (optional).
Copy the link or scan the code and share it with your colleague.
The QR code or public link will take your colleague directly to a moderators view of the Q&A message board.
The shared list will clearly indicated that the list is a moderator display and can be changed with this link.
Note: If moderation settings are disabled, the link will no longer work.
