1. To set up a basic multichoice poll (MCQ) with one choice:
In the Polls section select the '+ Add Content' button.
Select 'Multichoice' as the poll type.
The result display default will be a bar chart. If you have a Presenter plan and above you can select a pie chart as well.
Enter the 'Question title' of your poll. That is your question you want to ask. It is optional to add rich text formatting (bold, underline, italics paragraph break) to the question title.
If you prefer, add an image to the poll question by clicking on the picture icon. Either upload a preferred image from your computer or use the built-in library of licensed images. (If you have a Free account, you will not have access to this feature.)
Enter the 'Choices' you would like your participants to choose from. You can also add images to the choice options.
The default allowed selection will be one. Press 'Create'.
This poll question will allow participants to only choose one of your specified choices.

1. Set the correct answer
When you are creating a poll you can indicate the correct answer. Should any participants choose the right answer, they will receive one point for it. You are also able to select more than one correct answer.

Providing additional information within the poll enhances its educational value, but remains optional.
3. Choosing multiple options:
Allow participants to choose beyond the default single option when answering a poll. Adjust the 'Allowed Selections' below the choices to expand the number of selections participants can make. You can either impose a limit (e.g., pick three) or match it to the number of choices available.
4. Apply default poll settings or use custom settings for your poll.
You session will apply the settings that is set up in the Settings menu under the Features tab. If you want to add custom settings (incl. advanced scoring) that applies to your specific poll, read this article.
5. Display a pie chart
If you're looking for a fresh way to present your multiple-choice results, try switching from a bar chart to a colorful pie chart. Pie charts offer a visual alternative and might make it easier for some presenters to reveal and interpret live polling data.
Pie chart display is a paid feature available to all users with a Pro plan or above.
By default, multichoice questions are shown as bar charts. However, you can easily switch to a pie chart either when setting up your poll in the dashboard or directly in Present view when displaying your results.
Important notes for pie chart displays:
- Pie charts are only available for multichoice polls.
- You can only have one correct answer set up. If you have more than one correct answer, the poll display type will revert to a bar chart.
- Pie chart displays only work with polls that has 10 or fewer choice options.
- Even if your poll was initially set up as a bar chart, you can switch to a pie chart in Present view using the pie chart icon. You can also switch back to a bar chart if needed.
- The colors in the pie chart are preset to enhance product accessibility. The first 5 colors are optimized for accessibility, and the next 5 also pass accessibility tests but with a slightly lower score. These colors cannot be changed.
- When revealing the correct answer, the correct option in the chart will stand out in the highlight color of your session theme.
- Hover over different sections of the pie chart to reveal the legend.
- Enable real-time results to watch the pie chart adjust dynamically.
- Pie chart labels have a character limit of 1000.
Setting Up a Pie Chart in the Dashboard
To use a pie chart, simply select it from the result display type dropdown when setting up your poll.
You can also enhance your pie chart by adding images to the choice options. These images will appear next to the legends and can be enlarged by clicking on them.
Switching to a Pie Chart in Present View
In Present view, you can easily switch from a bar chart to a pie chart by clicking the pie chart icon on the right. If the pie chart icon isn’t visible, you will need to upgrade your plan to access this feature.
Pie charts also support correct answer displays and is interactive. When the correct answer is revealed, the correct option will be highlighted in color, while the incorrect options will be greyed out. Click on the choice option images to enlarge them, or the question title image.
