By default, participants join a Vevox session using a 9-digit Session ID. However, for added security, you can set up a passcode, requiring participants to enter both the Session ID and a passcode before joining.
Why Use a Passcode?
- It prevents unauthorized access if someone shares the Session ID.
- It ensures only intended participants can join.
- It adds an extra layer of security for sensitive discussions.
To add a passcode to your session:
Go to your sessions list. On the session you want to add a passcode, press the 'more options' (or three dots) icon.
Select 'Settings' from the dropdown menu. And then click on 'Participant Identification'.
Toggle the 'Additional Security' button to ON.
Type in a passcode and press 'Save'.
To exit this screen press 'Close'.
Participants will be requested to add the passcode as well as the 9-digit ID when logging into the Vevox app.
An alternative way to set up your passcode is to select the 'Settings' option in the left-hand navigation. Choose the 'Participant Identification' section, enter your passcode, and click 'Save.'
Remember to inform your participants that they will need to enter a passcode to join the session and share it with them. A reminder for a passcode will appear when you copy the QR code from the invite to participants.
