Quick polls (also referred to as adhoc polls) allow you to launch a poll instantly while presenting, without creating it in advance in your dashboard.
Perfect for those “I need to know right now” moments, quick polls help you:
- Capture a real-time snapshot of opinion
- Make fast decisions
- Keep conversations flowing
- Gather instant feedback
- With Attendance tracking
Quick polls are available to Pro plan and above users in Present view only.
Quick polls are not available in the PowerPoint integration (including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex and Google Slides).
Available Quick Poll Types
When launching a quick poll, you can choose from the following types:
- Agree vs Disagree
- Yes / No / Don’t know
- Generic 4-choice question
- Star rating
- Word cloud
- Text response
- Numeric response
The question title will automatically display “Please vote” followed by the selected answer options.
There are no correct answers available in quick polls.
Accessing quick polls
Quick polls are accessed from the control bar in Present view. You can launch a quick poll at any time during a live session. After the session, you can edit the question text or answer options in the Dashboard if you’d like to better reflect what was discussed or voted on as well as for recordkeeping and reporting.
How to use quick polls
Starting a new session (no polls created)
If your session does not contain any polls, the Play button in Present view will be replaced with an Action button.
To launch a quick poll:
Open Present view and start your session.
Select the Action button in the control bar.
Choose the required quick poll type from the menu.
The poll will automatically open in Present view and on participant devices.
Close the poll when you have collected all the votes.
Using quick polls during an active session
To launch a quick poll during a session:
As you move through your polls in Present view, hover over the question in the control bar (instead of the play button) and then select the Action button at the bottom.
Choose the required quick poll type.
The poll will automatically open in Present view and on participant devices with the instructions: 'Please vote'.
Each quick poll and its results are automatically saved to your session and displayed in your Dashboard poll list in the sequence they were launched.
Editing a quick poll after responses have been collected
You can edit the wording of a quick poll after responses have been collected.
To edit a quick poll:
In the Dashboard, select Polls from the left-hand navigation menu.
Locate the question you want to edit.
Select More options (three dots) next to the question.
Choose Edit.
Update the question text or answer options as required.
If a quick poll already has responses, you cannot change the poll type, add or delete answer choices or add correct answers. To make these changes, you must first delete the responses (or download the results if needed) before editing the poll.
All the changes will reflect in the data report.
