What is an AI Quiz?
On your marks…Go!
Our new Vevox Alpha AI functionality takes the thinking out of your question creation. Just type a prompt or topic you want to ask about (it can be general or very specific), and it will create questions and answer options for you. It even includes a correct answer explanation.
Quizzing has never been this easy!
Vevox integrates with ChatGTP v3.5 from OpenAI.
Who has access to it?
Prompts can be specific like:
Most watched American TV shows in 2023, Fourth-year student Physics, Artificial Intelligence, Challenges, Net zero strategy technology, Treating an abrasion on the skin, Principal areas in Wales, Managing stress as a student, Best British pastimes ever, Shakespeare’s 10 history plays
Or prompts can be general like:
Mr. Bean, Confex 2024, Disney turning 100, The Great British Bake Off, The Gaelic language, Boston Marathon, Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival, Easter quiz etc
How to set up an AI Quiz in live polling
Create a session and then start your session.
From the polling menu, create your first AI Quiz question by selecting the dropdown arrow next to the '+ Create New' button. Then select 'AI quiz'.
Type in your prompt/topic (it can be very general or specific.) Select the number of multichoice questions you want it to generate (choose up to 5). Press 'Generate'.
You might notice a spinning wheel. This is because the AI generator can take some time to generate the questions & choice options. It might take a minute or two. When finished, the questions and answer options will automatically appear in your session.
To review the questions, click on the three dots next to the question and select 'Edit'. The question, choice options, and correct answer will be visible. It is possible to edit, move, duplicate or delete them in the edit mode. You can even add images to the questions in the question title or choice options.
If you are happy with the question, press ‘Cancel’ to close and move on to the next question below. Review all the questions until you are satisfied.
To add more questions to your quiz, select 'AI quiz' from the drop-down arrow next to the '+ Create New' button again and repeat step 3 above.
Once you have all the questions, you can open the quiz in Present view by selecting the ‘Present Fullscreen’ option on the right-hand side. The question would now appear in Present view and the participant app. Read this article on how to run a poll in Present view.
Shortcut for individual AI questions
Alternatively, use the shortcut to create your AI question. From the polling menu, click on the '+Create New' button. Next to the multichoice polling type, select the magic wand - you will be asked to enter your prompt or topic.
Example: Type in "London underground most stations" and press the generate now arrow.
Our AI feature will automatically generate one multichoice question with a correct answer and explanation.
How to set up an AI Quiz in a survey
The survey feature differs from live polling as participants can complete the questions at their own time and pace.
From the main menu, select the ‘Survey’ option on the left side.
Press the +Create New button and give your survey a name.
Select the dropdown arrow next to '+Add Question' and click on the AI quiz.
Type in your prompt/topic (it can be very general or specific.) Then select the number of multichoice questions you want it to generate (choose up to 5). Press 'Generate'.

Participants can see their individual scores at the end of the survey and correct answers.

Yes, this statement explains the integration, how it relates to privacy and data security and where to find further information:
Vevox Chat GPT Integration data security statement:
Vevox's implementation of ChatGPT prioritizes your privacy and data security. No identifiable data is sent with the prompts for question generation, and none of your queries are stored. All prompts are submitted under our ChatGPT user and therefore no link is associated with the individual user or Vevox account using the function. The generated questions are stored as a set of normal questions in your dashboard, with no connection to your company or employees. While we cannot protect against users submitting private information in their prompts, we believe these scenarios are highly unlikely. Your privacy is our top concern, and we continuously enhance our safeguards to ensure a positive and secure experience for you.
If you are on a plan and wish to have AI Questions creation feature disabled, please email support@vevox.com
All plans will include AI Quiz question generator functionality until Sep 9th, 2023 - FREE of charge. Vevox reserves the right to end this offer early, or extend it. After the initial 'FREE' period, AI Quiz question generation will still be included in all plans but be subject to usage limits. Free and Starter Plans will only be able to generate up to 10 AI questions. All other plans will have unlimited access.
No.
Firstly the user is in control of whether they decide to utilize AI to assist them in question creation. This is an additional feature to help save time and provide inspiration for presenters, it is not forced onto any user or replacing any current functionality or a required part of the question creation process. Secondly, this feature can be completely deactivated if required- see next question.
If you have a multiuser, Institutional or enterprise plan account and do not want this functionality, you can request for it to be deactivated any time by contacting your account manager or emailing support@vevox.com with your Vevox dashboard URL.

This feature is experimental and in active development. We are listening to feedback and open to ideas- Please send feedback to aiquiz@vevox.com and will continue to evolve and develop the performance and scope of our AI integrations.
Like any internet search, there can be inaccuracies in the questions and responses generated, although from extensive testing and feedback it is incredibly accurate and reliable. We do strongly recommend reviewing all questions created and entered into the system by AI for accuracy and functionality. We describe AI Quiz as being your assistant, saving you time and providing inspiration, but not completely replacing you! The area that chat GPT sometimes brings up inaccuracies is when a question is date bound and it has not sourced the question from the most up to date source. For example a question like 'Who is currently the CEO of XXX company?' might bring up a previous CEO based on content that is out there on the net.
The system has crashed/timed out, please retry. It should never take longer than two minutes to generate questions. Please report the issue to aiquiz@vevox.com

Hovering over the 'I' button provides further instructions on how to use the prompt. You can enter anything from one word to a more detailed prompt for what you need. Please note: You do not need to specify the question type, number of responses required or the need for a correct answer and explanation, this is built in already.
Currently it is for multichoice quiz questions only (within Polls and Surveys). Questions generated will always be multichoice, have four possible answers, a correct answer, and a correct answer explanation.
Yes, other questions formats, and non 'Quiz' style questions, i.e. ones that do not have a 'correct' answer are on the roadmap.
Yes. Again it is very important you check any content created before sharing with a live audience.
Not currently but we are aware this would be helpful for some. These can be added in only a couple of clicks though using the built in image library or your own image.
Auga Technologies (Vevox's parent company) is the client account of ChatGPT. Auga has tens of thousands of users, so there will be no company specific data that is trackable from an individual client of Auga’s and subsequently Vevox. i.e. all prompts that are inputted come from Auga, not any specific user or account.
When you put a prompt or topic into Vevox, in the background via the API, Vevox is telling ChatGPT “find 5 multiple choice quiz questions about “XXXX” with 3 wrong answers and 1 correct one”. And this is what then imports into the system. The API is not completely “open”, so once the question is imported into Vevox, there is no transfer of data back, therefore, the polling responses cannot go back to ChatGPT to ‘educate’ their database.
