Who has access to it?
All Vevox plans include it for FREE and have unlimited access to this feature. We reserve the right to change the conditions of use at any time.
2. What is an AI Quiz?
Quiz Like a Pro – Effortlessly!
Vevox's AI makes question creation effortless. You have two tools:
1. AI quiz generator – generates multiple-choice questions with answer options, correct answers, and explanations from a topic, document, or URL you provide.
2. AI question helper – takes a question you've written and generates relevant answer options for you.
An automatic scoreboard completes the experience. AI quizzes work in Present view and in Vevox integrations including PowerPoint, Teams, and Zoom. Vevox integrates with Azure AI from Microsoft.
3. The AI quiz generator
Enter a topic—broad or specific—and the generator will produce multiple-choice questions with answer options, the correct answer, and an explanation for each. You can also point it to your own source material: upload one or more PDF's, DOC's, PPT or TXT documents, or paste in a website URL, and the AI will generate questions directly from that content.
You can add and use subtopics to your prompt to keep questions focused on a particular angle of a broader subject. An optional target audience field lets you tailor the difficulty and framing to suit your participants—useful when quizzing specialists versus general audiences.
This AI feature works exclusively for multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each prompt can generate up to 10 questions with up to four answer options each of which one will always be correct.
Example prompts:
| Specific | General |
|
Fourth-year student Physics Net zero strategy technology Shakespeare's 10 history plays Managing stress as a student |
Mr. Bean The Great British Bake Off Boston Marathon Easter quiz |
How to set up an AI Quiz in live polling

From the polling menu, select + Add Content button. Then select AI Generated Questions.
- Enter your prompt or topic.
- Optional - choose from the suggested subtopics or add your own for more focused results.
- Choose the number of questions (up to 10).
- Select the difficulty level.

- Optional - add source material: upload one or more PDF/text/PPT documents for curriculum aligned questions (max 30MB), or enter a website URL.
- Press Preview.
You might see a spinning wheel—this means the AI is working on your quiz. Generating questions and options can take a minute or two.
Once generated, click Add Questions to include all, or select only the ones you want to include in your quiz. Your questions and answer options will then appear in your session automatically.
Review questions via the three-dot menu and click on Edit. You can edit text, move, duplicate, or delete questions. Images can be added to question titles or options, and you can change the result display from bar to pie chart etc.
When satisfied, press Save to close and move to the next question.
To add more questions, select + Add Content and repeat.
Once your questions are ready, select Present Fullscreen on the right to open and run the quiz in Present view. The question will display in both Present view and the participant app.
Create course or subject specific quizzes
Upload your own course material—PDFs, text files, PowerPoint ,Word documents or a URL—and the AI will generate questions directly from it, ignoring outside knowledge. This is ideal for educators and subject-specific assessments.
You can review, select, or exclude questions before adding them to your session. Once added, questions can be edited, deleted, or have images added from within the dashboard. Use Regenerate to get replacement questions. Any newly added questions will appear at the bottom of the list.
To add your own source material for generating polls:
Upload your document(s) or URL link.
Select the number of polls to generate.
Set the difficulty level.
Identify your target audience
Press Preview and then select Add Questions.
4. The AI Question Helper
What is the AI Question helper?
Have a question but stuck on the answer options? The AI question helper generates answer choices for multiple-choice, ranking, and numeric polls.
Enter your question title, press Generate Options, and the AI returns four answer options, the correct answer(s), and a short explanation. For numeric polls, it can also set minimum/maximum values, include decimals, and add an error margin automatically.
Once your poll is generated, you can switch to edit mode to make any adjustments or add images.
How to use the AI question helper & examples
From the polls section, open your question modal and select your question type. Type in your question title and press 'generate options'. Give AI a few moments to generate the answer options, correct answer(s) and explanations where applicable. Edit the questions where needed.
Examples
| MCQ: | What is the most stolen food in the word? | Ranking in order: | Rank these coffee drinks by caffeine content. |
| Numeric: | What are the number of dimples on a standard golf ball? | Ranking by preference: | What is the best public transport for travel? |
5. Change the default scoring:
All MCQs in the AI Quiz Generator start with a default score of 1 point. To award more points for a correct answer, go into edit mode for the specific question, open the poll settings, and change the score to your preference. This is applies to the following poll types with one or more correct answers: MCQ, Text, Rank in correct order, numeric, matching, Pin on image & Pin on choice image.
Partial scoring: When you have a MCQ, Rank in order, Matching, Pin on Image or Pin on choice image poll with more than one correct answer, you can add partial scoring.
6. How to set up an AI Quiz in a survey
To let participants complete a quiz in their own time, use the Survey feature. This creates a self-paced quiz where participants answer at their own pace, receive instant feedback on correct answers, and see their total score on submission. (Answers can’t be changed once submitted). Hosts can set start/end times or apply a time limit.
Follow the same steps above to create questions using Vevox's AI tools, but do it in the survey section of the dashboard.

No.
Firstly the user is in control of whether they decide to utilize AI to assist them in question creation. This is an additional feature to help save time and provide inspiration for presenters, it is not forced onto any user or replacing any current functionality or a required part of the question creation process. Secondly, this feature can be completely deactivated if required- see next question.
If you have a multiuser, Institutional or enterprise plan account and do not want this functionality, you can request for it to be deactivated any time by contacting your account manager or emailing support@vevox.com with your Vevox dashboard URL.

This feature is experimental and in active development. We are listening to feedback and open to ideas- Please send feedback to aiquiz@vevox.com and will continue to evolve and develop the performance and scope of our AI integrations.
Like any internet search, there can be inaccuracies in the questions and responses generated, although from extensive testing and feedback it is incredibly accurate and reliable. We do strongly recommend reviewing all questions created and entered into the system by AI for accuracy and functionality. We describe AI Quiz as being your assistant, saving you time and providing inspiration, but not completely replacing you! The area that AI sometimes brings up inaccuracies is when a question is date bound and it has not sourced the question from the most up to date source. For example a question like 'Who is currentlythe CEO of XXX company?' might bring up a previous CEO based on content that is out there on the net.

Hovering over the 'I' button provides further instructions on how to use the prompt. When you use the AI quiz generator, you can enter anything from one word to a more detailed prompt for what you need. Please note: You do not need to specify the question type, number of responses required or the need for a correct answer and explanation, this is built in already.
If you use the AI questions helper to generate choice options only, you first need to select the poll type, i.e., MCQ, numeric, ranking, or demographic poll type, type in your question, and then hit 'Generate options'.
The AI quiz generator is currently avalable for multichoice quiz questions only (within Polls and Surveys). Questions generated will always be multichoice, have between 2-5 possible answers (or undefined is you wish), a correct answer, and a correct answer explanation. The AI question helper will create answer options for MCQ, ranking (in preference or in correct order), numeric and demographic poll types.
Yes, other questions formats, and non 'Quiz' style questions, i.e. ones that do not have a 'correct' answer are on the roadmap.
Yes. Again it is very important you check any content created before sharing with a live audience.
Not currently but we are aware this would be helpful for some. These can be added in only a couple of clicks though using the built in image library or your own image.
Auga Technologies (Vevox's parent company) is the client account of Azure OpenAI. Auga has tens of thousands of users, so there will be no company specific data that is trackable from an individual client of Auga’s and subsequently Vevox. i.e. all prompts that are inputted come from Auga, not any specific user or account.
