In this article we cover:
As a host or moderator of a meeting, you've got the option to show or hide Q&A messages. But what if a message contains a typo, poor grammar, or inappropriate wording? Vevox also offers you the option to edit your participants' questions and comments in the Q&A section.
Both editing and archiving of Q&A messages are available to all Vevox accounts including Free accounts.
Editing messages
If a submitted question or comment needs a quick fix, you can edit it directly from the dashboard.
Press the more options (three dots) next to the message, it will allow you to alter the text.
Make your changes and press the correction mark to apply them.
- If the message is already published, the updated version will also appear on participant devices and Present view.
- Use the undo arrow if you want to revert your changes.
Archiving messages
Archiving is a way to remove a message from view without deleting it permanently. Archived messages are hidden from participant view in Present view as well as the participant app. The messages or comments are removed from the main Q&A lists (Needs Review, Reviewed, and Published), but they remain in the data report.
There are two ways to archive a message:
1. Archiving from the dashboard
Select the tickbox next to the message and click on the archive folder at the top of the list (archiving multiple messages) or the archive folder next to the message (archiving messages one at a time).
2. Archiving from Present view
- You can also archive a message during a live session.
- Keep in mind: participants will see the message briefly before it’s removed.
- Click the hide icon on the message to take it off the Q&A board.
- This is useful when a message/comment can be taken of the Q&A board after it has been discussed.
To remove a message from the Q&A board click on the hide icon on the message itself.
Deleting messages
If a message isn’t appropriate or necessary, you can delete it permanently.
- Once deleted, the message will be removed from all Q&A views—including:
- The dashboard
- Present view
- Participant devices
- If you’re unsure about deleting it, consider archiving instead—it’s a safer, reversible option.
- Once a message has been deleted in the dashboard, it will also disappear from the app of the individual participant who has sent it.
- Use editing for small corrections, archiving to quietly remove items from view, and deleting for messages that must be permanently removed.
